Product  Customisation & Development

Webbing Products has significant expertise and experience with regards to the customisation and development of bespoke webbing for product-specific applications of our new and existing customers.

Our customisation and product development often overlap, but are defined as the following:

Product  Customisation

Customisation relates to the alteration of an existing product or product range to meet a customer’s specific requirements.
Aspects of the webbing that can be altered include:

  • Weave pattern and construction
  • Yarn type
  • Width and thickness
  • Colour
  • Specialised finishes
  • Purpose specific construction
  • Printing and branding

Product  Development

The development of a webbing which is not currently within the Webbing Products portfolio that is tailored to meet the specific requirements of the customer and, most importantly, the end-use application. The customer is an important part of the development process in ensuring the success of the development.

Customisation & Product Development  The Process Explained

  1. Enquiry received from the customer
  2. Customer requirements are analysed and key product characteristics identified
  3. These characteristics include:
    • Yarn type
    • Yarn count
    • Number of yarn ends
    • Weave pattern
    • Number of picks
    • Break strength
    • Elongation
    • Mass
    • Width and thickness
    • See more below
  4. A comparison to the existing range of products is completed
  5. If the product is available, the request is allocated to a sales enquiry
  6. If not currently available, the enquiry enters the product development process
  7. A unique identifier is allocated to the product development enquiry for tracking and control purposes
  8. Costing of the required product is completed to ensure the pricing requirements are acceptable to customer
    1. If not, the product development process ends
    2. If accepted, the product development order is issued to the development team
  9. A product development tracking number is allocated to the development process.
  10. The completed development is sent to the customer for approval
  11. A product code is generated for the approved development

Product Characteristics  Colours on offer

Webbing Products offers an extensive colour range with in excess of 100 standard colours to meet customers’ requirements. This colour range can be expanded further to include any additional customer requirements.

  • Colour masters are maintained electronically and matched using a colour photo spectrometer, ensuring colour consistency unbiased by visual inspection.
  • A combination of the colour photo spectrometer, dyestuff technical data and state-of-the-art predictive software, guarantees a colour-matching process that is efficient and accurate. This ensures optimal cost management during both the product development and manufacturing processes
  • Various technologies are utilised to provide the required colour, including
    • Dyeing
    • Pigmenting
    • Pre-dyed yarn

Colour Chart Disclaimer

The colour chart is an average representation of the colour across differing webbing, weave patterns and yarn types. These various construction options result in slight shade variations to the standard. As such, this chart is for reference purposes only and we recommend that any colour requirements are matched and approved on the applicable webbing construction chosen.

Please note our  Minimum Order Volume

While there are minimum volume considerations, each customisation and development is assessed on its merits and is agreed with the customer before production commences.
